Bench Craft Company extends its reach on the East Coast and in the Midwest

While most businesses are still struggling to stay afloat during the economic crisis, Bench Craft Company is expanding again. This month Bench Craft Company opened two new offices. One office in Elkhorn, Nebraska will allow Bench Craft Company to serve more golf courses in the Midwest and give businesses the opportunity to reach more golfers in that part of the country. Bench Craft Company also opened a new office in Newark, Delaware. The expansion is another sign of Bench Craft Company’s commitment to serving courses and businesses on the East Coast.

Bench Craft company opened its doors in 1982. The company now serves more than 1400 courses across the country.

With more than 209,000 Oregonians out of work in July 2010, Bench Craft Company is doing what it can to improve the state economy. Bench Craft Company Owner and President Charley Cobb said, “I could send jobs overseas but I believe businesses have a duty to hire locally. If I can provide a job to an Oregonian and help that person put food on the table, I will”. Cobb’s Oregon roots run deep. He played football at the University of Oregon in the early 1970’s alongside big name athletes such as Dan Fouts.

Cobb started working for Bench Craft Company in 1983 when it only employed a handful of people. Bench Craft Company now employs 150 people.

The unemployment rate in Oregon remained at 10.5% for the month of July. That same month, Bench Craft Company added employees and continued to grow.

Bench Craft Company Helps Courses ‘Go Green’

With the recession still in full swing, more courses are turning to Bench Craft Company to supply free course guides, scorecards, benches, tee signs and ball washers. But in addition to saving thousands of dollars a year, Bench Craft Company is helping courses go green. To begin with, our products are made of recycled redwood and cedar. And as time and weather take their toll, our crews do everything possible to reduce our carbon footprint.

Benches and tee signs are periodically taken off courses, brought back to our wherehouse and recycled. Crews sand the wood and re-stain it. The steel legs are also sandblasted and re-powder coated. Bench Craft crews then assemble the recycled pieces and get the product back out on the course. Our materials can last 10 to 20 years, saving courses money and saving the environment at the same time.

Bench Craft Company has been doing business since 1982 and is the largest provider of custom designed golf tee signs and benches nationwide, supplying our products and services to over 1400 golf courses. Our present courses are located in 27 states from coast to coast. We also provide custom display boards, ball washers and scorecards. Golf courses receive our products and services at NO EXPENSE. Our sales staff directly funds the program by obtaining sponsors for each product. Local vendors and players receive sponsorship priority, and golf course management approves every potential sponsor.
